Rev. Terri Hord Owens
General Minister and President
Rev. Teresa “Terri” Hord Owens is the General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. She is the first person of color and second woman to lead the denomination. Since her election in 2017, and re-election in 2023, Rev. Hord Owens has led the denomination with a passion for spiritual formation grounded in Biblical scholarship and a commitment to justice. Rev. Hord Owens, a graduate of Harvard University and University of Chicago Divinity School, is actively committed to the Disciples’ priority of being an anti-racist church, being a movement for wholeness, welcoming all to the Lord’s table as God has welcomed us. Her exhortation to the church is “Let’s be the church we say we are. It is in being who we say we are that we actively bear witness to God’s limitless love for all.”

Jonathan B. Hall is the Senior Pastor of First Christian Church of North Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. He is co-author of the book, Dear Son: Raising Faithful, Just and Compassionate Men. Jonathan and his wife, Annie, have two young boys, Malachi and Zion. He has a B.A. from Transylvania University, an M.Div. from Eden Theological Seminary, Certification from Bossey Ecumenical Institute, and a D.Min. from Claremont School of Theology.

Rev. Sandhya Jha
Author
Rev. Sandhya Jha is the author of Room at the Table, the history of people of color in the Disciples of Christ, and Pre-Post-Racial America: Spiritual Stories from the Front Lines. Rev. Jha is currently working on their PhD at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice, with a focus on comparing contemporary progressive and conservative social movements. Ordained at National City Christian Church in 2005 as a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) minister, Sandhya is proud to have received both a Master of Divinity and Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago.
